When the ‘Iron Man 3’ trailer first premiered in October, it was believed that the film series was shifting from a light-hearted mood in the first two films to a more dark and serious third film. The trailer shows Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) having posttraumatic stress disorder after the events in ‘The Avengers’ and portrays Gwyneth Paltrow looking more down than usual.
Marvel Producer, Kevin Feige says that ‘Iron Man 3’ being a serious film is definitely not the case, “It’s not a serious movie, but we seriously dig into exploring more of Tony. The trick is just trying to make great movies. We try to make them all great, all different and fresh. What you’ll see in ‘Iron Man 3’ is some very unique directions that were taken.”
Director, Shane Black, also commented on the new film, “We’re not aiming bigger, necessarily. We’re aiming for different and fresh and new. It’s all about capturing that lightning-in-a-bottle feel, about trying to get as much into this as we can. We’re looking to get a ton of thrills into a short space, to make a nice little stew for you.”
Robert Downey Jr. feels confident that the film has the right actors and director to make the movie a success.
Blair Stover can’t wait to see this film when it hits theaters on May 3, 2013.
